Gull announces another no strings Discount Day

Oil giants make Kiwis jump through hoops while Gull offers straight up value

Gull will offer a 10 cent per litre discount from 7am Thursday until midday Friday this week at all Gull participating sites with no minimum dollar purchase and no maximum limits on litres purchased.

Gull General Manager Dave Bodger said today “We thought of asking customers to do the children’s trick of simultaneously rubbing their tummy and patting their head to get the discount but decided that was just taking up peoples’ valuable time. Many of our customers have noted they love our simple Discount Days offering 10 cents per litre off.

“Most of our oil giant opposition have a minimum purchase to qualify, you must have a piece of plastic to get the discount, and the discount is limited to so many litres.

“We like your custom whether you’re a motor bike, just in need of a small top up or if you want to fill the boat or truck with a couple of hundred litres. At Gull you all get the discount.

“I’m hardly coordinated,” added Bodger. “and I wanted the discount, so we got rid of this idea.

“Discounts need to be accessible. Upper and lower limits on them and remembering the plastic card just seems unfair to us, so we just stuck with turning up, it seemed simpler! We’re offering fuel without the faff.”
