Taska enters German market
Taska Prosthetics Limited (“Taska”) today announces that it has signed an exclusive agreement for the distribution of the Taska hand into the German, Austrian, and Swiss markets with ORTHO-REHA Neuhof GmbH (“Neuhof”), a leading distributor of prosthetic equipment.
Taska produces the world’s first waterproof multi-articulating myoelectric prosthetic hand. The product is designed and manufactured in New Zealand, and it is considered one of the most innovative in its market segment. It has been designed to handle the rigours of everyday life, placing usability and durability at the forefront of its design philosophy.
"Patients have one less thing to worry about with such a prosthetic hand," explains Roland Schiller, co-manager at Neuhof. “Waterproofing seems like an obvious requirement for a hand, but this product still remains unique in the marketplace”.
The Taska hand has been sold successfully in the USA market for over a year and is also available in Australia and New Zealand. The company sees the addition of the European region as a logical growth path.
Jamie Cairns, Taska CEO said “The German-speaking countries that are covered by this agreement represent a significant new market for Taska and an incredibly important segment of the European market. We know that there is strong demand for the product, and we are keen to capitalise upon our US success and apply our learnings to what is sure to become a very important region for us”.
“We went through a lengthy selection process in identifying Neuhof as our preferred partner. We can see some real commonality between the cultures of the two companies and are looking forward to building a rewarding and lengthy relationship.”
“Taska and Neuhof are a very good fit” says Bernd Schiller, co-manager at Neuhof. “We look for innovations that give the user a real improvement in their quality of life, and we believe that they really can do more with the Taska hand."
The Taska hand will be officially launched in
the German market on the 28th of March 2018 at ExpoLife
Internatoinal in Kassel, Germany, and will be available for
order in the Austrian, Swiss, and German markets
thereafter.
