Information request from boxing and wrestling associations
Work is underway to update information on approved boxing and wrestling associations in New Zealand.
The Department of Internal Affairs supports the Minister of Internal Affairs to approve boxing and wrestling associations under the Boxing and Wrestling Act 1981.
Chris Thornborough, Director Regulatory Services, is asking approved associations to supply up to date information to the Department by 30 April 2019, or approval will be withdrawn.
“Whilst several associations have responded, we are still awaiting responses from some associations,” says Mr Thornborough.
Boxing and wrestling associations are being asked to supply up to date information on the following:
• the names and addresses of the officers
involved in the management of your Association and the names
of any other key persons who have significant influence over
the operation of your Association’s affairs;
• the
constitution, articles and rules governing your
Association;
• the rules your Association use for
promoting and conducting boxing events; and
• any other
information you believe is useful information about your
Association and how it organises and operates boxing
contests.
Information can be emailed to boxing@dia.govt.nz or addressed to:
