Fun Times Return As Playgrounds Open And Barbecues Fire Up

Mitre 10 stores around the country will come alive later this week with the sounds of sausages sizzling and children laughing after New Zealand moves into Alert Level 1 overnight.
A well-loved part of a weekend visit, the Mitre 10 community barbecues and kids’ playgrounds have been sorely missed by customers and store teams alike. In-store events are also back on the cards, now that the limits on gathering size and social distancing rules have been relaxed.
Enhanced cleaning protocols will be in place to ensure the wellbeing of customers and store team members is maintained.
Chief of Customer Marketing and Inspiration at Mitre 10 (New Zealand) Ltd, Jules Lloyd-Jones says store teams around the country are looking forward to seeing kids having fun in the playgrounds and community groups using the barbecues again.
“We’re so pleased our community barbecues will be up and running again to help community groups with their fundraising efforts. We don’t operate a national programme – the barbecues are there to support local groups and initiatives and can be booked by contacting the local store.”
