Skills Group Nails It With New Career Training For Dunedin
New Zealand’s largest private training establishment, Skills Group, is expanding its Dunedin footprint with the launch of new courses in nail technology, pre-Police and pre-Defence preparation, and healthcare.
The move builds on last year’s opening of a specialist Skills Group training hub in Dunedin for aspiring electrical and plumbing tradespeople.
Head of Operations and Delivery Jessica Corbett says the new Skills Ignite campus courses will provide a much-needed boost to the region, removing the need for students to travel out of Dunedin to pursue these popular career paths.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Dunedin locals who want to join the Police, start their own nail technology business, or step into meaningful work in the healthcare and wellbeing sectors,” Jessica says.
With the introduction of the new courses in August, the Skills Group’s capacity in Dunedin will increase from 140 to 226 students across all disciplines.
“This latest expansion reflects Skills Group’s long-term commitment to improving access to vocational training in the South Island,” Jessica says.
“We’re thrilled to support Dunedin and the wider Central Otago region by offering students more training options, closer to home. This is part of our vision to create world-class training hubs that meet the needs of a variety of learners, employers, and industries.”
The new courses will begin accepting enrolments from today.
