Genesis And Cogo Launch Go Electric Calculator To Help Kiwi Households Cut Costs And Emissions
Thursday 21 August

Genesis has partnered with global carbon management fintech Cogo to launch the Go Electric Calculator, giving Kiwi households an easy way to see how switching to electric can save money, reduce emissions and future-proof their lifestyle. This is the first time a New Zealand energy provider has rolled out Cogo’s electrification solution which provides personalised recommendations on energy upgrades for homes and vehicles.
With the Go Electric Calculator, Genesis customers can:
- Receive tailored suggestions based on their property, vehicle and energy use
- See potential annual savings from switching appliances, adding solar or upgrading to an EV
- Understand upfront costs and connect directly with trusted local installers and dealers
Based on research conducted by Rewiring Aotearoa, consumers could save up to $3,000 per year in energy costs with changes such as switching to an EV when it’s time for a new car and replacing old gas appliances with those powered by electricity.
