The platform that has helped over 230,000 New Zealand businesses grow since 2010 has built a structure that makes the website creation process hassle-free, easy, and without the cost headaches of going through an agency.

Not only will this industry-changing move give local businesses across the country a huge boost, it is also set up to help Kiwi charities and not-for-profit organisations. That’s because everyone who receives a free website is given the option to support a charity with a one-off donation of their choice.

“The idea is simple,” said Quentin van Heerden, founder of Localist Free Website. “If we help you grow, you can help others grow too.”

A key motive for launching Localist Free Website was to “level the playing field” for Kiwi businesses struggling with their online presence in a time of financial uncertainty, said van Heerden.

“We’re giving free websites to Kiwis with passion. Not DIY templates. Not half-finished pages. Fully built, professionally designed websites – hosted, supported, and ready to help you win online.”

The free website application process can be completed in two minutes, with people only having to pay for their hosting, which Localist Free Website organises through New Zealand partner Hosting Harbour.

"If you love supporting New Zealand local like we do, and you want a website built for you for free, this is the time to make it happen,” said van Heerden.
