Voyager Internet today announced that company founder Seeby Woodhouse will return as Chief Executive Officer effective 1 October 2025, marking a significant new chapter in the company’s journey.

Woodhouse, who founded Voyager in 2010 and led the business through its first six years of rapid growth, is returning with a renewed passion to guide Voyager into the future.

“I’m excited and energised to be stepping back into the role of CEO,” said Woodhouse. “This is very much a next chapter, not a reset. Voyager has strong momentum, and my focus will be on building on the existing strategy and continuing to deliver great outcomes for our customers and partners.”

The leadership transition follows Deidre Steyn’s successful tenure as CEO since February 2024, building on more than seven years with Voyager. During her leadership, the company strengthened sales momentum, deepened its customer-first culture, and advanced into a new phase of growth. She will now take up a senior role with Amazon Web Services.

Woodhouse acknowledged Steyn’s impact during her time at Voyager:

“I want to personally thank Deidre for the energy, focus, and leadership she’s brought to Voyager. She has made a real difference and leaves the business in a stronger position. While we are sad to see her go, we’re proud that a global company like AWS has recognised her world-class talent. On behalf of the Voyager team and our customers, I wish her every success in this exciting next chapter.”

Steyn also reflected positively on her time with the company:

“It has been an absolute privilege to lead Voyager. I am incredibly proud of the momentum we’ve built together and the way the team has continued to put customers at the heart of everything we do. While it is bittersweet to be moving on, I know Voyager is in great hands with Seeby returning as CEO.”

Voyager confirmed that the leadership change will not affect its strategic direction or customer commitments. The company remains focused on delivering world-class services in Cloud, Communication, Connectivity and Cybersecurity across New Zealand.
