Lotto NZ Offline & Counters Closing For Major Tech Upgrade
Lotto NZ is reminding customers that all Lotto counters across New Zealand, as well as the MyLotto website and app, will be closed from 7pm this Sunday 28 September until late in the afternoon of Monday 29 September.
The closure is to facilitate a once-in-a-generation technology upgrade spanning the lottery’s core technology platform as well as point-of-sale hardware in stores.
“This weekend is the culmination of an incredible amount of work by our team over the past two years,” says Lotto NZ Chief Executive Jason Delamore.
“Now we're into the home straight. From Sunday evening we’ll be working around the clock to ensure the transition goes smoothly and to get us back online as soon as possible on Monday afternoon.
“Following the upgrade customers will see a range of changes, including new terminals with big screens in our stores and the consolidation of Lotto, Powerball and Strike on to single paper tickets.
“We’re also simplifying the spending limits on MyLotto and bringing new games to Instant Kiwi Online.”
“Importantly, the new system sets us up to deliver transformative customer experiences in future years.”
Key closure information for customers:
- The switch to the new system is planned from 7pm Sunday 28 September until later in the afternoon on Monday 29 September.
- During this period Lotto counters in stores will be closed, and MyLotto customers will not be able to log in to their MyLotto accounts.
- Instant Kiwi online will be unavailable for sale from 6pm on Sunday 28 September.
- Keno and Bullseye draws will run on Monday, but results will not be published until we reopen later in the day. Tickets for Keno or Bullseye games on Monday 29 September will need to be purchased before MyLotto and Lotto counters close at 7pm on Sunday 28 September.
- Lotto stores and counters are expected to reopen from later in the afternoon of Monday 29 September.
- Customers wanting to buy tickets for upcoming draws should plan ahead. Lotto NZ recommends buying in advance for Keno and Bullseye draws on Monday 29 September.
- Customers can check mylotto.co.nz for updates in the lead up to, and during the planned closure period.
