OutSystems Launches Agent Workbench To Unlock Enterprise Value From AI Agents
OutSystems has announced the general availability of its Agent Workbench, a platform designed to help enterprises rapidly build, orchestrate and scale agentic AI systems. The launch, unveiled at the company’s 2025 ONE Conference, positions OutSystems at the forefront of an emerging enterprise trend: using AI agents to streamline operations, improve decision-making and deliver smarter customer experiences.
A Platform for the ‘Agentic Enterprise’
The vast majority of organisations — 93 per cent, according to industry research cited at the conference — now view AI agents as a priority. But for many, scaling pilots into production has proven challenging. Issues around governance, integration, and enterprise-grade security have held back progress.
OutSystems CEO Woodson Martin said Agent Workbench was built to overcome these hurdles. “Agentic AI is one of the most powerful levers for enterprise innovation and transformation, empowering organisations to grow revenue, drive efficiency, and deliver amazing experiences,” Martin said. “Agent Workbench was created to give our customers the tools they need to build the agentic future with OutSystems.”
The platform unifies workflows, data and applications, while providing the governance, auditability and compliance controls needed to maintain trust at scale.
Early Success Stories
Several global organisations piloted the technology through an Early Access Program, reporting notable results:
Axos Bank automated error-log analysis and document mapping, improving accuracy and reducing repetitive work.
Thermo Fisher Scientific deployed a Customer Escalation Agent to streamline issue resolution, cutting down triage times.
The Arch Company, the UK’s largest small business landlord, created an agent to classify and route customer queries, eliminating spreadsheet-driven processes.
TeamWork, a technology consulting group, reduced ticket resolution times by combining automated handling of routine requests with real-time agent guidance for complex cases.
Grihum Housing Finance in India used agents to improve loan underwriting accuracy and property evaluations.
These examples highlight how AI agents can augment both front-line operations and back-office processes, boosting agility while easing pressure on employees.
Strategic Enterprise Impact
For business leaders, the appeal lies in efficiency and speed-to-value. Kevin Hearn, SVP at Axos Bank, said his team could expand AI use without the need for specialised hires. “With Agent Workbench, we can quickly and safely create agents for specific use cases,” he said. “This is a significant step in our AI strategy and helps us build a more responsive banking ecosystem.”
KPMG, another early adopter, emphasised the governance aspect. “Agent Workbench delivers the speed-to-value and guardrails organisations expect,” said Hélio Pimenta, Associate Partner at KPMG’s Low-Code Center of Excellence.
With agent adoption rising across industries, OutSystems’ launch signals a new phase in enterprise AI: one where agentic systems move from experimentation to becoming critical drivers of business transformation.
