Tourism Industry Arrives In Wellington For Tourism Summit Aotearoa 2025 With A Spring In Its Step

More than 300 tourism leaders from across Aotearoa New Zealand are gathering today at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre for Tourism Summit Aotearoa 2025, hosted by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA).

Centred on the theme ‘New Zealand Tourism 2030: Being Dynamic in a Global Marketplace,’ the Summit provides a full day of insights, to explore how the industry can adapt and thrive in a fast-changing world.

TIA Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram says, “The Summit is an important annual opportunity for the industry to come together, to share knowledge and consider how New Zealand tourism continues to adapt and respond to unprecedented external pressures.”

This year’s programme features a strong line up of engaging speakers and thought leaders from across business, geopolitics, marketing, and technology. Highlights include sessions exploring global economic conditions and their travel impacts, understanding the role of Tik Tok in travel decision making, diving into cyber-risk and the role of artificial intelligence in the future of tourism.

The industry arrives at Summit with a spring in its step. TIA’s recent member Workforce Survey shows that business confidence has increased significantly, with 86% of tourism organisations feeling confident about the year ahead, up 11% on 2024 results.

TIA Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram says, “It is incredibly positive that optimism is high across the tourism industry as we head into the summer season, especially given how tough it is out there for businesses at the moment.”
