Powerball Rolls Over - $40 Million Up For Grabs On Saturday
5 November 2025
Powerball was not struck this evening and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $40 million.
“Powerball has jackpotted to an epic $40 million on Saturday. It’s now the highest it’s been since August last year when an Auckland family scored themselves $44.67 million – the biggest ever Powerball prize won on a single ticket,” says Lotto NZ Head of Corporate Communications, Will Hine.
“High jackpots are exciting, and we know New Zealanders all around the country will be dreaming about what they would do if they won $40 million this weekend,” says Hine. “We’re encouraging our players to remember that big jackpots still have small odds, and one ticket is enough to be in the draw.”
“Stores will be busy on Saturday afternoon, and MyLotto in the evening, so it’s best to avoid those times and get your ticket early,” he says.
Meanwhile, four lucky Lotto players from Hamilton, Carterton, Lower Hutt and Invercargill will be celebrating after each winning $250,000 with Lotto First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw.
The winning tickets were sold at Gordonton Superette in Hamilton, New World Hutt City in Lower Hutt, Collingwood Foodcentre in Invercargill and on MyLotto to a player from Carterton.
Strike Four was also won tonight by a lucky player from Auckland, who takes home $200,000. The winning Strike ticket was sold at Pacific Superette in Auckland.
Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores or on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLottoApp.
