Top Trade Me Property Listings Of The Year Revealed
What does a grand Georgian masterpiece owned by two well known Kiwi, a unique hillside Christchurch property, a castle in the clouds, and a homestay for Golden Retrievers have in common? They’ve each made the list of Trade Me’s most viewed homes of 2025.
Trade Me Customer Director Gavin Lloyd said the most popular listings of the year show Kiwi love to dream scroll, whether it’s multi-million dollar homes, or one-of-a-kind properties.
"It's a testament to the sheer variety of homes on Trade Me, proving that a home doesn't just have to be a house, it can be an ark, a luxury resort, or even an architectural work of art," Mr. Lloyd said.
The top listing with a massive 151,330 views was the Ark House in Christchurch's Sumner, a local icon, and replica of Noah’s Ark, the property sold last week.
“We know that unique, converted buildings always spark our imaginations, and attract plenty of attention and this one was no exception.”
Following in second place with 119,432 views was a palatial, multi-million dollar mansion in the affluent Auckland suburb of Remuera. The property, home to entrepreneur Diane Foreman and broadcaster Paul Henry, features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, four living areas and sits on a section of more than 2000m².
"This home is the epitome of high-end, luxury living, offering an incredible slice of Auckland's most sought-after real estate. Kiwi are clearly aspirational, and listings like this offer a glimpse into the top tier of Aotearoa’s property market," Mr. Lloyd added.
In third place with 94,935 views, and just a 10-minute drive away from the second most viewed listing, was a high-end newly built sculptural “spec” house in Auckland’s Ōrākei.
"It's clear that while we love the quirky, a bit of luxury on the coast is always a hit. This property perfectly blends incredible architecture with a truly unique location, and it’s no surprise it captured the attention of so many."
Landmark residences, properties with swimming pools, European-inspired abodes and homes with additional income streams appeared to be common themes in 2025 with many of the most viewed listings falling into one or more categories.
“We often see interest spike for homes with character, but the Golden Retriever homestay in Te Horo took the biscuit!
“This property was a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for a home that was less about the mortgage, and more about finding their ‘fur-ever’ calling offering both a lifestyle home
and a ready-made business, a huge drawcard for those looking for a change of pace and a place to run free.”
