From Local Family Business to National Leader
Founded in 1979 by Suzanne and Galvin Bartlett, Paramount began as a small family-run cleaning business in central Auckland. Over 46 years, it has grown into a nationwide franchise network employing more than 250 staff and supporting 220 franchise business owners who together employ around 1,200 people across New Zealand.
Today, the company services over 5,100 clients across Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Growth has been driven by both the franchise model, launched in 1996, and strategic mergers with established cleaning companies, including Office & General, Cleanup Group, Nu-Look Cleaning Concepts, Power Cleaning, and Focus Services.
Commitment to Excellence and Sustainability
The Westpac Supplier of the Year award adds to a long list of achievements for Paramount Services. The company previously won Supreme Franchise System of the Year (2018) and Franchise System Excellence in Sustainability (2023) at the Westpac NZ Franchise Awards.
Judges at the 2024 awards described Paramount as “a forward-thinking business, delivering impressive growth,” noting that the company continues to expand “in a well-planned, deliberate manner, while ensuring they maintain strong relationships and sustain their current services.”
Innovation and sustainability remain central to Paramount’s operations. The company uses environmentally friendly cleaning products, microfibre technology to reduce chemical use, and recycling systems for paper, plastic, glass, cans, and food waste. Its Paramount Care range carries the Environmental Choice New Zealand tick of approval.
People at the Heart of Success

The franchise model also provides opportunities for business ownership and personal growth, creating pathways to entrepreneurship for hundreds of New Zealanders.
Looking Ahead
