Two Lotto Players Win $500,000

17 December 2025

Two lucky Lotto players from Auckland and Canterbury will be celebrating Christmas early after each winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw. The winning tickets were sold on MyLotto to players from Auckland and Canterbury.

Powerball was not struck this evening and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $6 million.

Meanwhile, two lucky Strike players will also be celebrating after each winning $100,000 with Strike Four. The winning Strike tickets were sold at Challenge Mt Albert in Auckland and on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLottoApp.

Lotto NZ’s Christmas promotion is now on, and this year there’s an extra $6 million in prizes to be won. There’s one prize of $1 million and 100 prizes of $50,000 up for grabs and all Triple Dip tickets bought between Sunday 14 December and 7.30pm Saturday 3 January will be in the draw with a chance to win.

We know our products are a favourite festive gift, so we’re reminding customers to gift responsibly this Christmas by ensuring they’re only given to adults.

Lotto NZ exists to return 100% of its profits to Kiwi communities through lottery grants programmes run by Te Puna Tahua NZ Lottery Grants Board.
