From Start-Up To Stadium: Hnry Backs Wellington With Naming Rights Deal

Wellington – Just eight years after being founded in the capital, sole trader accountancy service Hnry is the new naming rights sponsor of the iconic Wellington Stadium, entering a five-year partnership agreement with Wellington Regional Stadium Trust.
From 1 March 2026, the Stadium will be known as Hnry Stadium. Hnry is one of New Zealand’s largest accountancy services, designed for sole traders. In 2020, it expanded into Australia and launched in the UK in 2025.
Hnry co-founder and CEO James Fuller says the Wellington community has backed them with an incredible level of trust, positivity and belief since they began, making the decision to become naming rights sponsor an easy one.
“Hnry is a Wellington-born business, and through the city’s unwavering support, we’ve been able to grow from a local start-up to now operating in three countries. Wellington has remained central to who we are throughout the journey, and this partnership signifies our long-term commitment to the city, economy and community,” he says.
Wellington Regional Stadium Trust recently celebrated 25 years of operating and maintaining the Stadium, and CEO Warrick Dent is excited to welcome Hnry as the naming rights sponsor.
“Having a Wellington-born-and-bred business as our naming rights sponsor aligns very well with our strategic purpose of ‘providing unforgettable experiences that connect our communities’. Given how that parallels Hnry’s own goals, we see this partnership becoming incredibly successful
“In the past 25 years, we have welcomed more than 12 million patrons through our gates. That level of support reflects the role the Stadium plays in Wellington’s cultural, sporting and community life. We work hard to consistently deliver experiences that bring people together, and we look forward to the next era working with Hnry to amplify our business even further,” he says.
Fuller says the Stadium partnership reflects their long-term relationship with the city. In 2023, they renovated the second floor of the historic Kirkcaldie & Stains building for their NZ HQ, which has capacity for a 150-strong workforce. Earlier this month, they also launched a NZ-first service for Kiwi sole traders, Scan to Pay, built with local open banking start-up Volley.
“We love this city, and we genuinely believe in its future. Taking on the naming rights for Hnry Stadium is our way of backing Wellington and contributing to something that brings people from all walks of life together as the city grows and evolves,” he says. “It reflects a long-term commitment to the place where Hnry began, and where we continue to invest, hire and build”.
Around 400,000 New Zealanders - approximately 20 per cent of the workforce - are sole traders, and each year Hnry processes around one per cent of New Zealand’s total tax take. The partnership commences on 1 March 2026 with Hnry becoming just the third naming rights sponsor in the Stadium’s 26-year history.
