Petdirect Launches 2-Hour Delivery For Pet Supplies In Auckland And Christchurch

Auckland, New Zealand – 12 March 2026 – Petdirect has expanded its delivery offering with the launch of 2-hour delivery for pet supplies in Auckland and Christchurch, giving pet parents an even faster way to get essentials delivered when they need them most.

The new service is powered by DoorDash, allowing customers to order eligible items from Petdirect’s online store and receive them at their door in as little as two hours.

Petdirect Head of Marketing and Customer, Taylor Jones, says the launch builds on the company’s existing delivery options as more customers look for speed and convenience.

“Pet owners often realise they need something right now. The food bin is empty, the treats are gone, or you have simply run out of time. Two hour delivery means help is on the way quickly.”

Petdirect already offers Evening Express, a same day delivery option available Monday to Friday in selected metro suburbs of Auckland and Christchurch. Orders placed before the daily cut off are delivered that evening between 6pm and 9pm.

Jones says the new service complements Evening Express by giving customers another option when they need supplies sooner.

“Evening Express has been great for customers who realise during the day that they need something that night. Two hour delivery takes that a step further, giving customers a fast delivery option during the day with orders arriving within a two hour window.”

Customers simply shop online at Petdirect as normal and select 2-hour delivery at checkout if their address is eligible. Orders are picked and packed and collected by a DoorDash driver for fast delivery, with live tracking updates available so customers can follow their order from store to door.

The service is currently available in selected Auckland and Christchurch postcodes, with availability confirmed at checkout.

“Pets do not run on schedules,” Jones says.

“By expanding our delivery options, and with more locations supporting fulfilment, we are making it easier for pet parents to get what they need, whether that is planning ahead during the day with Evening Express or getting supplies delivered within hours.”
