Petdirect, the official retail partner of SPCA, is proud to support A Furever Home Giving Day today, with every donation made on 18 March doubled to help vulnerable animals across New Zealand.
Kiwis are encouraged to donate today, with every dollar matched for one day only to double the impact and help more animals find a safe and loving home.
SPCA cares for thousands of animals each year, with an average of 110 injured, sick, or vulnerable animals arriving at centres around the country every day. Right now, over 3,000 animals are in SPCA care, relying on vital treatment, rehabilitation, and support before they can be rehomed.
Last year alone, SPCA helped over 15,000 animals find their forever homes. Already in 2026, nearly 2,000 animals have begun new lives with families who love them.
Petdirect CEO Dave Anderson says the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to improving the lives of pets across New Zealand.
“At Petdirect, we see every day how much pets mean to Kiwi families. Supporting A Furever Home Giving Day is about helping more animals get the care they need and the chance to experience that same love and security,” he says.
“With donations being doubled, this is a simple way for people to have an even bigger impact. Every contribution helps provide food, shelter, medical care, and ultimately a second chance.”
Funds raised today will go directly towards essential services including veterinary treatment, complex surgeries, rehabilitation, and ongoing care for animals across SPCA’s 27 centres nationwide.
New Zealanders are encouraged to make a one off donation today to double their impact and help more animals find their forever homes.
