Updated Fuel Stock And Fuel Shipping Data Is Available On The MBIE Website
- The supply chain is operating smoothly, and fuel is continuing to flow into the country as expected.
- Data now includes the names of fuel ships, providing greater visibility of supply movements.
- Fuel importers have provided good confidence through confirmed orders to mid-June, with planned orders extending into July.
- Overall fuel stocks remain well above the minimum requirements.
- The latest data shows a small decrease for petrol and a significant increase for diesel and jet fuel.
- The increase in diesel and jet fuel stocks is the result of several large shipments that have recently embarked for New Zealand.
- Stocks are now very high, so it would be normal to see a run of reductions in total stocks over the next few updates.
- Overall, New Zealand has 52.6 days of petrol, 52.7days of diesel and 58.7 days of jet fuel available. This is as of 11.59pm on 29 April. Since the last update petrol stocks have decreased by 0.3 of a day, diesel is up by 6.6 days and jet fuel is up by 9.5 days.
