New Zealand’s Largest LEGO® Store To Open At Sylvia Park

Auckland is set to welcome a new destination for creativity and play, with the announcement of the grand opening of New Zealand’s largest LEGO® store at Sylvia Park Shopping Centre on Saturday 23rd May from 9:00am.

Spanning 275 square metres, the custom built new LEGO Certified Store will offer a world-class, immersive new retail experience, to stand as New Zealand’s largest LEGO store.

Located in one of Auckland’s premier shopping destinations, the Sylvia Park store is designed to inspire builders of all ages and serve as a hub for creativity and community engagement including immersive experiences where guests can explore, create and play and custom built features which draw inspiration from local icons and landmarks:

As a brick-built tribute to local harbour boats - and serving as a perfect in-store photo opportunity

A spectacular Auckland Harbour Mosaic - with 24,554 bricks and taking 141 hours to build

The opening of the 25th store in the portfolio reflects the LEGO Group and Alquemie Group’s continued commitment to strengthening their presence across Australia and New Zealand, bringing fans closer to the brand through engaging retail experiences.

“Our second store in Auckland marks an exciting milestone in our continued growth across the region,” said Matthew Robertson, Managing Director, Licensed Brands, Alquemie Group.

“We’re thrilled to bring an interactive LEGO retail experience to Sylvia Park and to create a destination where brick fans of all ages can explore, imagine and build together. This store has been carefully designed to stack up as a must-visit location, with experiences that encourage creativity to take shape in new and exciting ways.”

Visitors can explore a wide range of sets, alongside interactive features including hands-on play zones, and signature features of LEGO Certified Stores globally, including a Pick a Brick wall and a Build a Minifigure station.

Key features of the Sylvia Park LEGO® Certified Store include:

  • Signature LEGO Certified Store experiences, including a ‘Pick a Brick’ wall and Build a Minifigure station where fans can create customised characters;
  • A custom-built, large-format mosaic featuring an iconic Auckland landmark, alongside locally inspired large-scale 3D brick models;
  • Zones for interactive play and hands-on building experiences;
  • Specialist staff offering personalised assistance and in-store workshops;
  • A broad range of LEGO sets, with clear in-store navigation to help customers discover products aligned to their interests.

The first 100 customers to make a purchase in store on the grand opening day will receive a free, exclusive customised Sylvia Park MinifigureTM. All customers who spend $199 or more will receive a free, LEGO Store gift with purchase (whilst stocks last).
