More Children's Programmes On TV2
TV2 is to increase the amount of children's programming from July 2. An additional half-hour of children's programmes will screen between 3 and 3.30 pm on weekdays in place of infomercial content, which will be screened elsewhere in the schedule.
TV2 General Manager Stephen Smith said the new slot would initially screen the critically acclaimed popular children's programme, High 5.
"We are delighted to be extending the viewing hours for our younger audiences with programmes that are both entertaining and encourage learning. While we are launching this new slot with High 5, we will review programme content over time, always with a view to screening appropriate content in this after school slot.
"TV2 is committed to screening world-class children's television and the addition of this extra time slot will help us to deliver more of the television that children want to watch."
