Good Publisher Award Shared
Two of New Zealand's smaller publishers were honoured at an Award ceremony on Monday during the Booksellers' Conference celebrations in Napier. Dunedin publisher Longacre Press and Wellington's Victoria University Press were jointly awarded The A.W. Reed Good Publisher Award 2001.
The Award is presented by the New Zealand Society of Authors in association with The Alfred & Isabel & Marian Reed Trust to honour the New Zealand publisher who, following a national survey of published authors, was judged the best and fairest in its working relationships with New Zealand authors and in the publication and promotion of their books and to honour the memory of the New Zealand publisher Alexander Wyclif Reed.
"Writers are the creative heart of our industry. We're delighted with their vote of confidence" agreed Barbara Larson of Longacre Press and Fergus Barrowman from Victoria University Press.
