Warriors have better rating with TAB

The New Zealand Warriors are rated as a $15.00 chance by the TAB to win the NRL after opening last season’s competition at $40.00 and then making the play offs.

“The Warriors look a much more settled team than last year, they have very few changes and we now know the capabilities of coach Daniel Anderson,” says the TAB’s rugby league bookie Kevin Gutschlag.

The Warriors are ranked 8th in the 15-team competition and Gutschlag expects Kiwi punters to again demonstrate their loyalty to the local team. “We’ll lose a fortune the day the Warriors win the Premiership,” says Gutschlag.

Perennial favourites, the Brisbane Broncos, will once again carry that tag into the 2002 competition with the likelihood of key players Alan Langer and “All Black For A Day” Brad Thorn returning to their playing ranks.

The Broncos have been priced at $3.25, with last season’s beaten finalists the Parramatta Eels next at $3.50 and the champions the Newcastle Knights third favourites at $7.50.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs, back in the competition after several seasons in the wilderness, are not rated as a winning prospect at $60.00.
