2002 LOVE The FRINGE
Fringe NZ Has Chosen The 2002 LOVE The FRINGE Image For Poster In 2002!!
Each year Fringe NZ works with 3rd year illustration students from Massey University’s School of Design to create a poster image for the Fringe NZ Festival. All the designs followed our Fringe NZ theme of LOVE and were all very different in interpretation. From family & friendship love, to a comedic take on the sexy Moulin Rouge style, to our own Fringe logo in bed, with a women, dragging on a cigarette!!!!!!
The image that Fringe NZ chose is designed by Stefan Messan.
Rich, exquisite, blood-red roses border a serene central image of a sacred heart that is imprinted with the Fringe NZ logo. The heart radiates gold streaks against a sky-blue background and subtlety placed around the outside are tiny ferns giving it that New Zealand feel.
Most of the artwork is illustrated by Stefan except the rose border, which is a scanned image of a single red rose multiplied. When you see the image you too will recognise the talent that Stefan has with illustration and Fringe NZ is proud to be a part of furthering his career.
“You just don’t get a chance to do this in school
– you don’t get a chance to see your work published, to see
your work go as far as they can. It’s all
good”.
