Massive plunge on
Brumbies
Defending Super 12 champions the Brumbies have today attracted one of the biggest single sports bets ever placed with the New Zealand TAB.
A North Island punter has put $100,000 on the Canberra-based side to reach the top four of the competition at $1.15, to win $15,000.
“It’s our biggest bet for several years,” said head bookie Pete Young. “The last time a six-figure sum was wagered was on the Parramatta Eels to beat the Melbourne Storm, which they did in the last few minutes,” added Young.
As a result of today’s massive bet the TAB now has the Brumbies at $1.09 to make the final four, the Crusaders are next at $1.35 followed by the Blues at $1.60 and the Reds and Waratahs $2.00.
