Literary Review Back On Shelves For 2002

Revival: the OUSA-Critic Literary Review 2002 was released to great anticipation in Dunedin today. The journal, a co-production between Critical Publications Ltd. and the Otago University Students’ Association, was absent from shelves in 2001.

“We chose the theme ‘revival’ because we wanted to re-establish the Lit Review as an annual tradition,” said co-Editor Glenn Goldsmith.

The Lit Review, which goes under a different title each year, has been an important literary periodical since the 1950s.

Revival: the OUSA-Critic Literary Review 2002 showcases the best of Dunedin and Otago University creative writing talent, in both poetry and short fiction.

“We were very impressed with the calibre of the submissions we received,” said co-Editor Ben Hamlin. “We had a wide range of contributors, from well-known poets and writers like David Eggleton and Brian Turner to first-year students.”

“Narrowing down the submissions was a very difficult process,” added co-Editor Patrick Crewdson. “The quality of the contributions that we had to reject is a testimony to the ones we included.

Revival will retail at $4.50 and will be available for sale at the University Bookshop, from OUSA, at ReFuel, and through the Archway Shop.
