Want to be part of activist film? Look at this.

Be part of an innovative new activist film project that "plans to change the world" - Thistle Hall, 5:30pm, Thursday October 3rd.

Interested folks are invited to come to the first open-planning meeting for a film to be created by the Wellington Rainforest Action Group (WRAG).

The film is hoped to be a collaborative work by local artists and activists or anyone who is interested in submitting work or helping out.

The story will be in three parts:

1) how our environment works in terms of ecology, climate engines etc.

2) the effect humans are having on the environment in terms of colonisation, capitalism, deforestation, globalisation...and

3) what is and can be done to change things eg. permaculture, grassroots activism and eco-villages.

It is hoped that the film will be a doco-'Baraka' type film using different media like computer animation, video, stills, music and scratch.

There will be a coherent story but footage and sound will be 'mish-mashed' together to make it a bit more interesting. The aim of the film is to educate, enlighten and inspire.

Please feel welcome to join the meeting or get in touch with Emily at WRAG via e-mail mailto: mailto:wrag_@hotmail.com, (04) 385-6728 or 126 Vivian Street Wellington.
