Quote From Francesco De Angelis
At the end of today's race Francesco de Angelis, skipper of Luna Rossa, said: "At the end of the first downwind run we found ourselves in a very difficult tactical situation and we tried to get the maximum advantage out of it. Unfortunately we had to pay a very high price. The fact of having been forced to complete the penalty turn immediately gave OneWorld the opportunity to take the lead and gain a good advantage right away. When you receive a penalty it is difficult to appreciate the Umpires' perspective as opposed to what we see from aboard the boat. Decisions are made instantly and the perspective can be radically different depending on the points of view. Obviously, in hindsight we can say we could have done something different. I have not seen the Umpires' report and we will certainly analyze the facts in detail later tonight."
