Owens picks up her second Kuala Lumpur squash title
New Zealand’s Carol Owens landed her second Kuala Lumpur Open squash title in style yesterday, dropping only five points in beating Natalie Grinham of Australia in the final.
Grinham was hoping to continue her winning streak after two consecutive WISPA squash titles this year.
She had no answer for the New Zealand star who won 9-3, 9-0 9-2.
Owens, who won the US Open last November, produced a superb display of high quality squash, especially her killer volley drops which caught Grinham several times.
The New Zealander will be top seed for the TOC tournament of Champions on a glass court staged at New York’s Grand Central Station starting this coming weekend.
