Deranged. Depraved. De Sade
Deranged. Depraved. De Sade
Kia ora All,
We hope you all had an hilarious time at the TV2 International Laugh! Festival - we certainly did! And now we are very pleased to present to you the NZ premiere of a fantastic stage play (that you may recognise as also being a film)........
Quills Season: Wednesday 21 - Friday 30 May (no show Monday) Time: 8pm, matinee 24 May at 4pm Tickets: $15 / $10
The NZ premiere of Quills by Doug Wright is a graduating Toi Whakaari students' cooperative production.
Quills is set in the Charenton asylum, France, in 1807 and is about the Marquis de Sade (notorious for writings such as '120 days of Sodom', and 'Justine'). Six eccentric characters trying to survive in the twisted world of the Marquis experience corruption, power, morality and censorship. (Yes - it does sound very similar to the plot of the movie by the same name!)
Quills is directed by Karen Lamb, who has travelled from Dallas, Texas to be part of this show. Proudly presented by Smokefree Arts
