The Robin Laing/Women in Film and Television (Wellington) Scholarship for study at the Film School in Newtown will be launched on Tuesday 2 December. The launch will be incorporated into the graduation ceremony for Film School students. It will be held at 6pm Tuesday, 2 December, at the Paramount Theatre, 25 Courtenay Place. The Scholarship has been set up to each year support a young woman with the potential to take a significant place in the screen production industry. It will provide $1000 towards her tuition fees at The Film School, plus a one year membership in Women in Film and Television (WIFT), starting after graduation.
Robin Laing is a founding member of WIFT Wellington and a role model for young women film-makers. She will launch the scholarship and will be involved in selecting the winner.
WIFT Wellington is an
organisation which aims to recognise and support women in
the film and television industries, and provide an informal
network for helping each other in our
careers.
