Harry The Dead Poet - Live In Person

Self-proclaimed underground legend Harry the Dead Poet is back for his third appearance at the Wellington Fringe Festival. From the ragged outermost edge of fringe culture he comes with a mission: to rescue poetry from the stifling hothouse of the English Department and drag it into the gutter where it can feel more at home.

Having noticed that dead poets get all the kudos, Harry declared himself dead in hopes of acquiring a kudos or two. He's still working on it.

Clad in his trademark loud shirts and cheap, tacky-looking shades, Harry performs poems about the apocalypse, illegal drugs, himself, and other subjects dear to his heart. "If nothing in any of my poems offends you in any way, please remember - I tried my best. And if you are offended, I did it on purpose."

Harry the Dead Poet will be performing live in person on February 18, 19, 20 and 21 at the Carter Observatory, as the inaugural artist in the observatory's Alien Life Form Performance Art series. Is he star material? Or just off the planet? There's only one way to find out. Shows start at 8 pm and tickets are $7 full price, $6 student/pensioner, and $5 Fringe discount.

As an E-list minor celebrity, Harry the Dead Poet is available for rent-a-crowd appearances.
