BlankFour poets in the pub
Four emerging Wellington writers will read at this Monday's Poet's Pub at Lower Hutt's Angus Inn. Tim Jones, Martin de Jong, Keith Lyons and Fionnaigh McKenzie will present a selection of poems and prose, including writings about Wellington harbour's Matiu/Somes Island.
The four writers - all members of Dinah Hawken's 'Writing the Landscape' course at Victoria University's International Institute of Modern Letter - featured in the Matiu/Somes Island poetry guide called 'On Track' launched last year. Some of the work presented on Monday will include writing jointly published by the International Institute of Modern Letters and the Department of Conservation in 'Sidetracks'.
The Poet's Pub is held
in the Murphy Bar of the Angus Inn in Lower Hutt, starting
around 7pm. The regular event includes an open mike for any
aspiring poets.
