Jason Leonard’s eight jerseys could sell for stg150,000

Eight of England prop Jason Leonard’s rugby jerseys are expected to fetch up to stg150,000 for charity at Christie’s auction in London next week. Among the World Cup playing jerseys to go under the hammer on March 24 is Jeremy Tomuli's number 3 Samoan jersey from a Group C match in Melbourne on October 26, 2003.

Leonard is also selling his own match-worn World Cup final jersey, an Australian World Cup final spare shirt (Matt Dunning’s) and six match-worn international swap jerseys from the England 2003 World Cup campaign.

Also on offer is Olivier Milloud's French jersey from the semifinal played on November 16. This match marked Leonard's world record 112th cap, making him the most capped player in rugby history.

Other jerseys to go under the hammer are from England’s matches against Georgia, Uruguay, Wales and South Africa.

All proceeds will go to raise funds for The Walton Leigh School, the Down's Syndrome Association, the PRA Benevolent Fund and the Bill Davidson Testimonial Fund.
