Golden Opportunity
As New Zealand’s finest athletes prepare for the Olympic Games in Athens, TV2 is on the search for contestants to appear on an exciting new TV quiz show – which will test their knowledge of Olympics facts, trivia and history.
‘Grand Champion – Olympic Challenge’ will also appeal to Kiwis who reckon they have the kind of general knowledge skills that could see them win a substantial prize.
The series will be recorded at TVNZ’s studios in Avalon, Lower Hutt, in late June. Some auditions will be held in Wellington, but producers are also casting their net for contestants in Dunedin, Christchurch, Palmerston North and Auckland.
“It’s going to be great fun,” says Stephanie Hutchinson, producer of ‘Grand Champion – Olympic Challenge’. “Quiz shows have always been popular with Kiwis and it’s been a while since we had a straightforward studio competition like this. Contestants will be tested on their broad general knowledge of New Zealand, and there’ll also be an emphasis on how much they know about the Olympics.“
For those who reckon they have what it takes, and wish to audition for the brand new quiz show, Ms Hutchinson says they can either call the production office on 04-914-5566, access the TVNZ website, www.tvnz.co.nz (keyword, Grand Champion), or write to Grand Champion, PO Box 31-444, Lower Hutt.
