Skycity Auckland - Proud Sponsor Of The Avondale Guineas

SKYCITY Auckland will once again be the major event sponsor for this year’s Avondale Guineas race meeting, the SKYCITY Guineas Day, on Wednesday 22 December.

SKYCITY General Manager Marketing Jill Birch said that the entertainment and gaming complex is very pleased to further support the event by raising the race stakes by $10,000 making it a total race stake of $70,000 for the 2004 SKYCITY Guineas Day.

“As a leading gaming and entertainment company, there are many obvious synergies SKYCITY Auckland has with the racing industry. As well as being a serious race meeting, attracting prominent trainers, jockeys and some of the country’s best three-year-old horses, the Avondale Guineas is also a fun family day out which fits with SKYCITY’s commitment to creating fun and entertainment, said Ms Birch. The Avondale Guineas is regarded as a notable event in the racing calendar and a lead up to the New Zealand Derby. Many horses, which have won the Guineas, have gone on to win the Derby including Leica Guv and St Reims.
