Half marathon gets new title sponsor

Manawatu.com has signed on as the Title Sponsor of the Manawatu Striders Half Marathon, to be held on Sunday August 14th 2005.

During the past 23 years the Manawatu Striders Half Marathon has become the largest event of its kind in the Manawatu attracting runners and walkers from throughout New Zealand and the future only looks brighter following today’s announcement.

Incorporating a 10km and a 5km option, it is an event everyone, young and old, can participate in.

With Manawatu.com helping to raise the profile, organisers are confident of a field in excess of 2,000 runners and walkers for next year’s event.

“The Manawatu Striders are delighted to have secured this support for our principal event,” stated Manawatu Striders President, Alister Martin. “We look forward to further developing our relationship with Manawatu.com and enhancing the experience for all those competing.”
