A Bit Of A Do
June 18 – 27
Avondale Bowling Club, 15 Highbury St, Auckland – 10 am daily

Creative Exposure has asked photographers since 2004 to submit these ‘A Bit Of A Do’ images and chosen to display them in community venues to build new audiences for photography by making the work more accessible. Specially selected images showing social and cultural events that bind communities together. private celebrations such as family parties or weddings or public events are shown. The judge this year was Brian Curtis, Editor, The Photographers Mail.

This year’s images will include:- tattooing, hay making, weddings, Indian family traditions, childrens birthdays and public events with politicians at Lantern Festival, musicians at Pasifika Festival, kids at the Weetbix Kids Tryathlon and Diwali Festival dance performances.

This year’s exhibition will be displayed at the Avondale Bowling Club, the training ground for some leading young NZ bowlers and in the heartland of this established working-class suburb.The patron of this bowling club is the Rt Hon Helen Clark.

The Auckland Festival of Photography runs 4 – 26 June 2005 at various venues and galleries all over the city
