The Demi Whores To Support Interpol
Media Release: 15 July 2005
The Demi Whores To Support Interpol
Auckland band The Demi Whores will support Interpol on their NZ tour.
The band were chosen by Interpol to play at their two shows in Auckland and Wellington early next month.
Promoter Mystery Girl sent CDs from NZ acts directly to Interpol in New York who wanted to pick their support act themselves.
"Interpol were adamant they didn't want a support act that sounded anything remotely like them, and they were taken with the Demi Whores," says Mystery Girl.
The Demi Whores (Edward Gains, Marcus Francis Joyce and Anthony Pompeus) are still in disbelief and say they are 'honoured to be asked'.
Interpol play Auckland's St James Theatre August 2 and Wellington's Victoria University August 3. Wellington is sold out but tickets for the Auckland show are still available at Ticket Direct.
