PAKIHI TOA –PREMIERE
Monday August 15 at 8.00 PM

A new business series that critiques Maori-owned businesses on their way up to ‘the next level’ launches on Maori Television. Produced by Qantas award-winning broadcasters Ingrid Leary and Te Kauhoe Wano, the series is presented by broadcaster Mihingarangi Forbes, respected business consultant Kristin Kohere and marketing guru Inia Maxwell.

HE WHARE KORERO –FINAL
Monday August 15 at 8.30 PM

Maori Television concludes its three-part documentary look at the renaissance of the Maori language with the broadcast of the final instalment of He Whare Korero. Produced by Tainui Stephens and presented by the eminent Dr Timoti Karetu.

STOLEN GENERATIONS
Tuesday August 16 at 8.30 PM

One in three children were removed from Aboriginal families and placed in institutions or foster homes during the period from 1910 to 1970. This documentary shows the gritty stories of three victims of the ‘stolen generation’ and takes a look at what modern day Australian government is doing to address this complex issue.

WAKA REO – PREMIERE
Sunday August 21 at 7.00 PM

A new reality series launches on Maori Television in which 13 young strangers are housed in Purau Bay in a bid to learn te reo Maori and win the final prize of $10,000 cash. The ups and downs, blowouts and triumphs are about to unfold as this challenging series sets of a language pressure cooker in which only one champion will reign supreme.

BLACK AND WHITE
Sunday August 21 at 9.00 PM

The compelling story of a 1959 landmark trial that changed police procedure and judicial authority in South Australia comes to Maori Television. Based on the true story of wrongly-convicted Aboriginal man Max Stuart, the case was one that divided a state and a nation. Starring Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty) and Kerry Fox (Shallow Grave, An Angel at My Table)

FINDING OUR TALK –PREMIERE
Sunday August 21 at 10.00 PM

Maori Television is exploring the state and survival of other indigenous languages in a 13-part half hour series that highlights examples in Canada where indigenous languages are on the comeback trail.
