Performance Café at Corban Estate Arts Centre to feature
Marilyn Waring
The Corban Estate Arts Centre Wine Cellar will be brought to life again to the sounds of the second Performance café in a series of four, on Sunday 21st August.
“Our first Performance Café was a resounding success”, says New Lynn event organiser and musician Fiona McEwen. “People of all ages loved the timeslot and the mix of jazz, blues and world music in a café atmosphere.”
The 21st August event features the legendary Dr Marilyn Waring with trumpeter Edwina Thorne, in a “politically correct musical review”, as well as Kurdish belly-dancers and jazz/country vocalist Lynn Walters.
“Using this marvellous venue means a great time can be had on a Sunday afternoon for a low door charge,” says Fiona.
“We are looking forward to
establishing a wonderful tradition for people out West to
enjoy”.
