Waiheke Openair Cinema kicks Summer Season Off
Openair Cinema kicks Summer Season off at Labour Weekend
Waiheke, 8 October 2005
After a short winter break, Urs and Denise Bauer are bringing back the openair cinema to Onetangi Road Vineyard on Waiheke Island for a three-night-extravaganza over Labour Weekend (21 to 23 October).
The long weekend starts with the first outdoor screening of “Deep Blue” in New Zealand on Friday night. The documentary about marine life is highly enjoyable and very special on the big screen. On Saturday we offer great entertainment with “The World’s Fastest Indian” - a stunning performance of Anthony Hopkins as Kiwi-legend Burt Munro.
Sunday will be the great family night out with Johnny Depp starring as Willy Wonka in Roald Dahl’s hit ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for Senior Citizen / Students with ID and $7 for Kids under 12. They can be bought at Onetangi Road Vineyard, Family Barrow Oneroa and at the door (cash only), which opens at 6.30pm. Movie screens at 7.30pm (after sunset). Tickets are not allocated to a certain night.
Bring your own rugs, cushions, deck chairs and sleeping bags. Onetangi Road Vineyard will offer some snacks, wine, Baroona beer, soft-drinks and coffee. No BYO alcohol is allowed.
