The Rock World Zoom Slide Champs

We have a new World Champion!
David Crochley, a student at Lincoln, zoomed his way to victory on the 100m polythene Zoom Slide set up this morning on Hagley Park, Christchurch. David’s Zoom attempt in the final shootout measured 44.5 metres.
Utilising the slippery Zoom slide, eco-friendly detergent and a leopard thong for speed, David was a crowd favourite from the beginning.
Over 80 contestants participated in The Rock World Zoom Slide champs braving the frost in a combination of stubbies, Speedos, bike pants, board shorts, Superman Capes - and undies for those who decided to participate on the spot.
The Rock’s
Morning Rumble – Nick Trott, Roger Farrelly and Simon Doull
–
hosted the event, broadcasting live from Hagley Park.
Prizes were awarded for distance, flair and costumes (among other things).
