Don McGlashan signs up with Arch Hill Recordings for his first solo album “Warm Hand”

Don McGlashan is recognised as one of New Zealand’s foremost songwriters, artists and performers. His career spans from the seminal post-pop-punk band Blam Blam Blam, to art experimentalists The Front Lawn, to platinum selling and internationally critically acclaimed band The Mutton Birds.

However, Don McGlashan has never - until soon – released an album under his own name. So it is with much excitement that we announce the imminent arrival of his first solo album, called “Warm Hand”.

The album will be released 1st May 2006 on Arch Hill Recordings, distributed in New Zealand by Rhythm Method.

“Warm Hand” was mostly tracked by Ed McWilliams (Ed Cake) and Tom Miskin in ‘the barn’ - at Te Papatipu, Bethells Beach. Production on the album has been a joint effort, with Don McGlashan, Sean James Donnelly (SJD) and Ed Cake all involved.

The live band – Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters - comprises Sean James Donnelly (SJD) on bass, John Segovia (Boxcar Guitars) on pedal steel and Chris O’Connor (Cloudboy) on drums.

Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters are playing two sold out shows on the 7th and 8th of March at the New Zealand International Arts Festival in Wellington, and recently played to several thousand at the Auckland Zoo. Look out for more shows in the upcoming months.
