Securing the shadow: early photographers in New Zealand
Auckland City Libraries presents a free exhibition that celebrates and explores the work of pioneering photographers of nineteenth century New Zealand at the Central City Library starting 6 June.
This exhibition highlights the release of Auckland City Libraries' photographers database, which is an index of photographers who worked in New Zealand from the 1840s through to the present day. The database draws on sources such as advertisements, newspapers, electoral rolls, published articles, trade directories and other resources to build a resume of the photographers and their work.
