Cambridge Raceway to host 'Field nights'

Greyhound Racing New Zealand will hold what is expected to be one of their biggest meets in the Waikato next week on Thursday 15 June 2006, when The Dogs come to Cambridge Raceway.

Aptly named Field Nights to coincide with the annual Mystery Creek Fieldays, there’s free entry through the gates, a complimentary $5 betting voucher to get punters started and a $1,000 PGG Wrightson voucher up for grabs.

Chief Executive Lance Bickford said that the event would provide something different and unique for those attending the Mystery Creek Fieldays.

“Greyhound racing has grown dramatically in the past two years and is now much more entertainment focused. Most people have never experienced the thrill of racing greyhounds and when they do, they find that they really enjoy it and have a great night out. The races are quick and fast, there’s a warm and friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced but good quality food and beverages and no loud music – what more could you ask for?

“The Cambridge event will be one of the biggest that we have held in the Waikato for a long time and it would be great to see those from the Fieldays, who want an entertaining night out, to come along and experience the fast-paced action of the racing,” he said.

Racing starts at the Cambridge Raceway at 5:30pm. Tipsheets on the various dogs are available to assist those who aren’t experienced in choosing the odds in greyhound racing.
