The Insiders Guide to Happiness
The Insider's Guide to Outrageous Fortune
This month, Script to Screen turns the spot light on local television drama, inviting award winning screenwriters Peter Cox and Rachel Lang to pull up a chair in The Writers Room.
Peter Cox broke new ground with The Insiders Guide to Happiness. He proved that the afterlife could be an enormously popular subject if explored with imagination and the use of complex script techniques. Peter continues to innovate as the head writer for the satirical mockumentary The Pretender.
Rachel Lang is the co-creator of Outrageous Fortune. Attracting unprecedented ratings, Outrageous Fortune was the New Zealand drama hit of 2005. Rachel's writing credits include the smart local drama Mercy Peak, and the critically acclaimed fantasy series Maddigan's Quest.
The Writer's Room series of monthly talks and debates is an opportunity for both experienced and emerging writers to discuss craft issues and hot industry topics. Come and hear Rachel and Peter talk about the creation of television drama as they share their thoughts on the craft of writing for the small screen.
