Amadeus
A sparkling evening of favourite arias and choruses is being presented by Orpheus Choir on Saturday 25 November at 8pm in Wellington Town Hall to complete Mozart’s 250th anniversary year.
Brilliant Auckland soprano Morag Atchison, last heard in Wellington as one of the Flowermaidens in The NZ International Arts Festival’s production of Parsifal, joins popular operatic tenor Ben Makisi, whose career is really taking off overseas. They will sing glorious arias and duets from Mozart’s great operas – La Clemenza di Tito, Idomeneo, Don Giovanni, La Nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, Die Entführung aus dem Serail. You will hear Orpheus in splendid voice singing choruses from these operas, as well as sections of Mozart’s much-loved Requiem and Coronation Mass as well as other sacred music.
Vector Wellington Orchestra is highlighted also, and the concert is conducted by Orpheus’ Michael Fulcher, who is making such an impact on the Wellington music scene.
The concert is sponsored by Spicers, Your Financial Advisers.
Tickets $15-$40 are available from Ticketek
