General Manager and Board Appointed to Auckland’s Newest Theatre

Q Theatre Company Ltd, the newly formed operating company managing Q Theatre announces the appointment of its General Manager and Board.

Q Theatre is Auckland’s first flexible theatre space with a seating capacity of 350 – 460 and will offer a diverse programme of dance, theatre, music and cross-disciplinary work. Construction is set to begin in 2007 and the doors to the theatre will open in 2009. It will be located at 305 Queen St.

Susanne Ritzenhoff has been appointed General Manager and has extensive business and theatre experience. She was Business Manager of Auckland Theatre Company from 1997 – 2001. Since then she has been involved in the management of IT company Sparkbox Ltd. Prior to her role at ATC, she worked internationally in a range of development and consulting roles.

Ms Ritzenhoff is a Masters of Economics & Business Administration graduate from Witten-Herdecke University Germany and has diverse business experience in New Zealand, Europe and the USA.

David Appleby has been appointed Chairman of Q Theatre Company Ltd board. He has acted as a director of numerous private companies, both locally and overseas and is currently director of Appleby Cotter and Associates Limited and along with his overall business acumen, is very involved in arbitration and mediation work.

Mr Appleby was Chairman of the NZ Hockey Federation for six years and Executive Chairman of Ceramco Corporation Limited for three. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and holds a B Com, CA, AAMINZ, and FCIS qualifications. He is a keen supporter of the performing arts.

Other members of the Q board are:
Justin Lewis – deputy chair, Craig Anderson, Fiona Mogridge, Janet Clarke and Elisabeth Vaneveld.
