Big Acts Announced for Big Night Before the Big Day Out

The Violent Femmes, Scribe, The Veils and Peaches and Herms are all to perform at The Big Night Before The Big Day Out at the St James Theatre in Auckland on Thursday 18 January.

The first thousand tickets to the event were given away to people who bought Big Day Out tickets in November. A limited number of Big Night Before The Big Day Out tickets are now on sale from Ticket Direct and Real Groovy Records.

The Big Night Before is the official Big Day Out pre-party and all the stars of the Big Day Out are expected to gather in the VIP Grand Circle bar on the night.

And there is a chance for lucky ticket purchasers to win entry tickets to that VIP party. Entry details are on the Big Day Out Auckland myspace page – www.myspace.com/bigdayoutauckland.

“The Big Night Before The Big Day Out is the ideal warm-up for a strenuous event like the Big Day Out,” said promoter Campbell Smith. “Fans can practice moving through a large crowd to get to the toilets and the bar and then back in time to see the next act. They can make new friends from other cities, exchange cellphone numbers and make plans to have an even bigger time the following day.

“We are mega-bundling the event with this bonus offering. Plus it gives Scribe a chance to practice a few of his jokes and the oldies an opportunity to sing along to the Violent Femmes in a comfortable indoor setting. Altogether now, ‘why can’t I get just one f#@*?’”
